Video: US man holes up in house after shooting 4, cops dismantle building

A suspect accused of shooting and wounding four law enforcement officers was arrested after a lengthy standoff in the US state of Texas last night.

Wanted for shooting a Harris County sheriff’s deputy during a traffic stop, Terran Green (34) triggered a manhunt after fleeing the scene. He then barricaded himself in a house.

The search led authorities to a residence in Sunset Ridge West, where Green had barricaded himself. A woman with two children confirmed Green’s presence. When police officers approached, the suspect opened fire, wounding three of them.

One US Marshal deputy was wounded in the leg, the second hit by shrapnel, and the Harris County deputy sustained two shots to the upper torso, his body armour preventing serious injury.

Unable to return fire, deputies retreated as the suspect barricaded himself, sparking a prolonged standoff. Smoke was briefly seen from the home during the episode.

Around the five-hour mark, the suspect surrendered after an armoured tactical vehicle called ‘The Rook’ rolled in and started dismantling the house. Green was seen exiting on the vehicle. He was then promptly arrested.
