Crash victims may get free medical aid of up to Rs 1.5 lakh – Times of India
NEW DELHI: Road transport ministry has finalised the proposal to provide free cashless treatment to all road crash victimsthe upper limit for which would be Rs 1.5 lakh and for up to 10 days of hospitalisation.
The free medical care will be available at all Ayushman Bharat-empanelled hospitals across the country and the cost will be borne by insurance companies.This will ensure medical help for all road crash victims within 60 minutes, known as the ‘golden hour’. In 2022, India recorded the maximum ever 1.68 lakh road deaths.
