JAMMU: A J&K police constable posted in Kishtwar district has been sacked for his alleged involvement in criminal activitiesincluding a murder in Punjab’s Mohali.
Kishtwar SSP had earlier suspended the constable, Sham Lal, for not resuming duty on Nov 15 last year after a sanctioned 3-day leave.
“During his absence, J&K police were informed about Sham’s arrest on March 3 by Punjab Police for his involvement in the murder of one Rajesh Dogra in Mohali.Sham was lodged in Nabha’s New District Jail,” police said on Wednesday.
After a departmental enquiry found Sham engaged in criminal activities in Kathua also, Kishtwar SSP ordered his dismissal from job with effect from the date of his absence, Nov 15, 2023.
