Naidu meets Shah and Nadda. BJP likely to join TDP, Janasena alliance | India News – Times of India
VIJAYAWADA: The TDP and Janasena alliance likely to grow bigger in Andhra Pradesh with BJP joining hands with them. Union home minister Amit Shah and BJP national president JP Nadda held alliance talks with TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday night. The meeting gained significance before general election and at a time when BJP focussed on strengthening NDA.
Naidu left for Delhi on Wednesday evening after he received an invitation from Amit Shah. Though the meeting was initially scheduled at 7:30 in the evening, it got delayed because Shah was held up in Parliament. Naidu met Sha and Nadda at around 11:20 in the night and the meeting lasted for about an hour. However, no one made any comments after the meeting.
Sources said that Nadda and Shah put up a proposal inviting Naidu to rejoin NDA. However, no decision was taken as of now over BJP’s proposal. Sources said that Naidu did not commit anything and told Shah and Nadda to meet again soon.
Besides talks on alliance, Naidu explained prevailing situation in the state and requested Shah and Nadda on the alleged atrocities being committed by YSRC government on political opponents. He also explained about inclusion of fake votes, irregularities in voter lists and misuse of official machinery by ruling dispensation.
Interacting with reporters before meeting Shah, Naidu said that several factors need to be considered for forging alliance with BJP. These are the issues need to be discussed at length, he said.
Though the BJP is maintaining distance from TDP since 2018, there has been a change of stance after it has decided to strengthen as the state unit is in favour of alliance with TDP. On the other hand, Janasena which is in alliance with BJP has joined hands with TDP without waiting for BJP to take a stand. Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan also to meet Shah and Nadda to discuss modalities of alliance. As of now it is still unclear whether BJP is joining hands with TDP for not.
